This weekend saw the indoor action move to Pitreavie for the next round of the 4J indoor Qualifying Heats with the final at Grangemouth on the 14th to 16th February.
On Friday the Lanahan brothers continued to shine with PB’s in the Shot Joseph ( 9.33m) and Abraham (10.60m). This continued with Abraham recording1.54 in the High Jump and Joseph 1.49 in the same event .Amit Kumar was also competing just missing the 2m mark again when he jumped 1.94 – it will come.
Saturday saw Godwin Imante (Thank you to Bobby Gavin for the photo) make his comeback after injury just missing his PB over 60m and producing two excellent times of 7.02 and then placed 2nd in the final 6.98. His training partner, Emmanuel Nyamekye, smashed his PB running 7.33 over the 60m. Callum Thomson ran 7.56 in his heat of the 60m. The jumpers were also in good form with Morgan Findlay (10.46m-Triple Jump and 4.81 Long Jump), Abraham Lanahan (12.13m-Triple Jump) and Jonathan Hopper (6.45m-Long Jump).
Meanwhile over in the USA Jamie Burns moved to 2nd on the all-time list for his college (North Dakota) over 3000m indoors when he ran 8.17.67 at the UW invitational in Seattle.
It has been a busy time for a number of our endurance athletes around the UK. Eilidh Bell has been tuning up for the Seville marathon with a run over the I/2 in York (Brass Monkey1/2 marathon ) with a time of 76.31. She will be joined in Seville ( Sunday 18th March) by Fionnuala Ross and Weynay who both are looking for Olympic qualifying times. Taha Ghafari has put is Marathon dreams on hold for now but is very fit as his 4th Place on Saturday at Beckenham Place Park Southern Counties Championships shows. Congratulations to Kirsty Mann who won the Buchlyvie 10km in a time of 41.01.
Sunday saw the action switch to Kirkintilloch for the Springburn Harriers Young Athletes Cross Country Races. This is a great event for athletes to dip their toes into the delights of cross country. The club was well represented across multiple age groups for Primary 1 up to U/17 athletes . Full results are not available yet but the club picked up a number of wins and podium places -Full report will follow

Parkruns – Wins for Andrew, Kenny, Tom and Matthew, close second for Fred.
At Pollok Parkrun Kenny Richmond came in 1st position in a time of 18.15 with Daniel Lowe in 7th in 19.23.
Over to Tollcross Parkrun, John Craig was 4th in 21.40, David Murphy 9th in 22.26, Paul Mcguigan 16th in 23.36 and Bob Porteous 50th in 27.35
Training buddiesc, Andrew Taylor and Fred Davies, ran the Drumchapel Parkrun, one of the toughest courses in the UK. Andrew managed to pip Fred on the line to win in 18.21 with Fred posting the same time. Well done !
At Fort William Parkrun, Tom Owens won in a time of 17.57.
At Queens Parkrun, Toby Hession ran 21.33 for 12th place.
Melanie Haynes ran the West Links Parkrun in a time of 29.05.
Finally a superb win for Matthew Fox at Elder Parkrun in a time of 17.53, with Denis Williams in second place in 18.55 with Raymond Loughran finishing in 56.26.
