West District Cross Country Championships
It was a short trip down the M77 for the first Cross Country Championships of the 2025-26 season, in Kilmarnock, and while we didn’t snag any medals this time, the team spirit was immense and we recorded some truly excellent runs.
Our Masters team led the charge, finishing a brilliant 4th overall, just one place ahead of the Senior Men who secured 5th.
The top run of the day belonged to Jamie Burns. Following up on his recent Half Marathon success, Jamie flew around the 4km course, clocking one of the fastest times of the day with an impressive 11:05!

University & Young Athletes
We also saw a strong representation from members running for Strathclyde University, with Ben Seath (11:45) and Joshua Mirtle (12:29) helping the University team finish 7th.
It was absolutely brilliant to see such a fantastic turnout from our Young Athletes, with many of them sampling the delights (and mud!) of cross country for the very first time. Great running from everyone!
