Scottish Indoor Championships
At the Scottish Under-16 Indoor Championships at the Emirates Arena, David Omorogieva enjoyed an outstanding day of racing as he secured both gold and silver medals.
David capped a long and demanding schedule of six races by winning the 200m final in a time of 23.23 seconds, his second fastest time over the distance. Earlier in the day he produced an excellent run in the 60m final to take the silver medal in a new personal best time of 7.25 seconds.

Arianna Obiora ran two PBs in her semi-finals on her way to the finals where she finished 6th in the u16 60m (8.23) and 4th in the 200m (26.83) finals
Ciaran Curley was 5th in the u16 60m hurdles final (9.48)
Molly Brown ran two PBs to win silver in the u14 60m (8.34) final and came 4th in the 200m final (27.42)
Zoe Roberts was representing GSOS this weekend, but won gold in the u16 girls 800m (2:15.16) and jumped a PB (5.03m) for 4th in the Long Jump
Paris Half Marathon
Brogan Wallace delivered a superb performance at the Paris Half Marathon, competing in a world class international field. Brogan finished in eighth place and recorded a new Shettleston Harriers club record with an outstanding time of 72 minutes 42 seconds.
Road Racing
Club athletes were also in action at the Des Gilmour 5 Mile Road Race where Shettleston had a number of strong performances in a competitive field.
Taha Ghafari led the club home in third place, followed by Tom Porter in seventh and Calum Oates in fourteenth. Alex Manley finished twenty seventh with Paul Sorrie thirtieth and first V45 for the club, while John Duffy placed forty sixth and was the first V60 finisher for Shettleston.

At the Jack Crawford 10km David Houston finished in 21st place with Joe Haughey placing 115th.
Parkrun Round-Up – Saturday March 7
Shettleston Harriers were once again well represented across a number of parkrun events. Congratulations go to David Murphy who celebrated a major milestone by completing his 300th parkrun at Tollcross.

Club Notice
The funeral of Charlie Halliday, who was involved with Shettleston Harriers for many years, will take place on Friday 13 March at Daldowie Crematorium at 3pm.
Charlie was 94 years old and many members will remember him helping club legend Alex Naylor at the track. His son Darren and daughter Lara, the wife of Adrian Callan, were both involved in the club as athletes, as were his granddaughters.
Everyone at Shettleston Harriers sends their condolences to the Halliday family.
