Club President Elaine Mackay was featured in the Scottish PB magazine this month and this was followed up with an invite from our local MSP John Mason to attend the 25th Anniversary celebration of the opening of the Scottish Parliament. King Charles and Queen Camilla attended the event and Elaine was honoured to have a conversation with Queen Camilla. Elaine was nominated as a local Hero by John Mason due to 50 year involvement in sport in the East End and her family involvement with the club for 97 years . John Mackay ,Club Secretary ,also attended the event as a guest of John. Following the event and speeches John gave Elaine and John a full tour of the parliament gaining access to places not normally available to the public. John Mason MSP is a tremendous supporter of the club and over a number of years he has attended events and given personal financial support to our ladies teams when they competed at the European Clubs Cross Country championships .The club is very grateful to John for his continual support of the club. Elaine and John would like to thank him for giving them a once in a life of opportunity to attend such an event.
