As the track season finished, it was no rest for Shettleston Harriers athletes as they competed around Scotland, England and even Denmark over the last two weeks.
Livingston Open Graded 200m – 11th September
At the Livingston Open Graded meeting, Viktoria Tennant competed in the U18 Women’s 200m, finishing 2nd in a time of 26.12.

Scottish Veteran Club Trial- Tollcross
First up were a trio of Masters athletes who competed at Tollcross at the Scottish Veteran Club trial for the Masters International later this year.

Great North Run- Newcastle
On Sunday 13th September, Jamie Burns and Clare Stewart both travelled to Newcastle to compete in the Elite section of the iconic Great North Run half marathon.

This weekend the Fast ‘N Flat event returned to Livingston and a number of club members used this to tune up for the first Cross Country event and the Scottish Great Run 10km / half marathon coming up in the next few weeks.

Dumfries Half Marathon- British Masters Championships
John Duffy added another title to his long list over the years when he took the British Masters Half Marathon title over the very hilly course in Dumfries.
He was joined by Ian Burns, V40, who finished 20th overall in the race, just missing out on an individual age group medal.
World Road Running Championships- Copenhagen
Meanwhile, in Copenhagen at the World Athletics Road Running Championships, a number of Shettleston athletes took part in the massive festival of sport, with around 60,000 runners taking part across the three distances over the weekend.
