Following on from the goods news 3 young athletes were selected to compete for the Scottish schools team at the SIAB International good news was received from Wales on great performances.
Jonathan Hooper was very busy competing in three events for the Scottish team claiming a bronze medal in the LJ (6.46) ,7th in the 200m (22.79) and then helped the 4x100m team finish 4th. Annie Mclean finished 4th in the 300m(40.33) and then went one better helping the 4x 300m team finish 3rd. Katie Woods recovered well after hitting a barrier early on in her 1500m Steeplechase event to finish 7th in a time of 5.23.32.

Closer to home a number of young athletes travelled to Kilmarnock to compete in the Scottish Athletics Throws Grand Prix and it was PB’S galore for the Shettleston Athletes

On Wednesday two Shettleston athletes travelled to the Cairn Table Hill Run in Muirkirk, Ayrshire

Newcastle 10km
Taha Ghafari continued his winning ways when he took first place inn the very hilly Newcastle 10km last weekend winning by over 1min in a time of 31.54

Parkruns – Rowan runs at Pollok, Stewart 1st at Stonehaven, John 1st at Tollcross, Sam 1st at Chasewater and a win for Anna at Queen Park
At Pollok Parkrun, Rowan Lennox ran 24.45. At Stonehaven Parkrun, Stewart Houston ran 18.04 for 1st place.
Tollcross provided the most exciting action at the weekend with John Craig just a few seconds ahead of Iain Macdonald of Cambuslang Harriers to take first in 18.24.
Ronnie Strachan was 3rd place in a time of 19.01. David Murphy was 20th in a time of 22.42.
At Victoria Parkrun, Duncan Macauley was 15th in a time of 18.51. Toby Hession was 7th place at Belton House Parkrun in a time of 20.47.
Meanwhile down in the Midlands, Sam Lesley, fresh from last weeks track sessions took first place in a time of 17.23.
At Drumpellier Parkrun, Gerry Mason ran a time of 40.54.
At Queens Parkrun, Anna Wallace ran a very impressive 19.14 to take first place overall on a very tough course
Raymond Loughran ran 28.51 at Elder Parkrun. Finally at Palacerigg Parkrun, John Duffy ran 19.54 for Palacerigg Parkrun for 8th Position.
