World Masters Championships- Daegu, South Korea
Carson Graham has been in Daegu, South Korea, competing in the World Masters Championships.
Although Carson has not picked up any medals at this high-quality event, he has performed excellently across a range of events. These have included the Long Jump, High Jump and Hurdles, as well as being part of the GB 4 x 100m team.
Carson will give us a full account of his experiences on his return.
Monument Mile
Saturday night saw the action turn to Stirling for the fantastic Monument Mile event.
The setting at the Stirling University Campus is fantastic, and the organisation certainly merits its World Athletics status. It’s not often that our young athletes get the chance to run a mile and chase the famous yellow cap awarded to the winner of each heat.
This year, Noad Woldeselassie took the win in Heat 16 to claim the yellow cap. Three other young Shettleston athletes finished second in their heats, coming very close to claiming a cap as well.

Podfather 10K
The action remained in Stirling for the Podfather 10K on Sunday morning.
Peter Avent had a great run, finishing 4th overall and 1st M40.

- Max McKee – 39:11, 150th overall
Prague 10K Night Race
Meanwhile, in Prague, three of our young university athletes were in action before returning to their studies.
The Birell 10K Night Race attracted a huge field of 8,560 athletes.

- Joshua Mirtle – 33:55, 77th
- Katie Paul – 38:30, 115th female
Buckie 10k
Over to Buckie, where Lachlan Oates retained his title, 7 years on from winning it initially. The race has returned after a 7-year hiatus, and we are glad to see Lachlan asserting a dominant win
