Another busy week for Shettleston Harriers saw us competing around Scotland.

On Wednesday night the Hill runners travelled to Tillicoultry to take part in the Maddy Moss Hill race. Harry Pullman was first Shettleston man over the line in 4th position closely followed by Chris Pantry in 7th and Kenny Richmond in 10th.

Friday night saw the action switch to Inverness with Lachlan Oates finishing 2nd to Sean Chalmers (inverness) in the Inverness Campus 5km Road Race in a time 14.45. Kirsty Mann secured yet another PB finishing 4th lady in a time of 20.10.

Over the weekend the action moved to Dundee and Grangemouth. Murray Graham finished 3rd in the Scottish U/13 Pentathlon Championships in Dundee setting a number of PB’s during the event. Our thoughts are with his club mate Abraham Lanahan who during the warmup in the first event, High jump, hit the bar and was injured. Little did we know later that day we found out he had fractured his leg and spent the night in hospital! I am sure everyone in the club wishes him a speedy return to competition.

Carson Graham also made use of the trip to Dundee to add to his impressive list of master’s titles. Carson came away with wins in the 110H and LJ and also collected a silver in the HJ. Lydia Woldeselassie was competing in the Forth Valley Flyers Open Championships on Sunday coming away with a P?B over the 100m in an excellent time of 19.09 claiming the bronze medal. She finished off her day with a distance of 4.43 in the Shot.

Godwin Imante was 2nd in the 110m sprint at Jedburgh, giving away starts to everybody in his heat, semi and the final. Michael Quilligan was second in the 400m at Jedburgh and Cole Kilpatrick was in the youth 90 & 200m finals at Alva Highland Games. Good weekend’s racing off the beaten track.

Ross Gollan finished an impressive 19th in the Grossglocker Berglauf mountain race in the Austrian Alps. This race was one of the WMRA World Cup races so contained a selection of the best mountain runners from around the world battling it out in some of the best scenery. Full results here
