With almost spring-like weather, the attention turned to cross country this weekend.

The first West Cross Country League match took place at a new venue. Thank you to Kilbarchan for hosting the event at Brediland Park, Foxbar, Paisley.

Fourteen Shettleston athletes travelled to take part across various age groups and distances. Full results will become available over the next few days, but early indications suggest that Jessica Martin (Senior Ladies) finished first lady, while Sam Lesley finished in the first six in the Senior Men’s race.

Matthew McEwan was the first Shettleston athlete over the line in the U18 event, with Emma Lockie first Shettleston U18 girl. In the U16 event, Naod Woldeselassie finished 4th in the race, with Charlotte Reilly also well up in the U16 age group. In the youngest age group, Dominic Boyle was our first finisher.

Results to follow.
