Young Athletes Indoor Finals- Major Success for Shettleston!

Sunday brought an excellent end to the indoor season at the Young Athletes Indoor Finals, with Shettleston athletes producing strong performances across a wide range of events. The highlight of the day was victory in the Under-16 Boys team competition. Every point proved crucial, but standout performances from Joseph Lanahan and David Omorogieva, who each won four individual events, helped secure the title. Ciran Curley and Matthew McEwan also added valuable points in a true team effort.

The Under-12 Boys also made the podium with a superb second-place finish in a highly competitive contest. Daniel McNair, Fynn Ferrie, Henoch Woldeselassie and Joseph Paterson combined well to take the silver medals, again showing excellent teamwork.

The Under-14 team also reached the final and finished sixth, with Rio Biddlecombe producing a massive personal best over 800m. It was encouraging to see so many teams represented at the finals, the first time in many years the club has had such strong participation.

Relays rounded off a successful afternoon. The Under-12 and Under-16 Boys both picked up bronze medals, while the mixed Under-18 team secured silver. A huge thank you goes to all coaches, team managers, parents and officials who have worked so hard throughout the winter indoor programme. Special thanks also to Jackie Alexander for organising the teams and playing such a key role across the season. The first CSSAL match of the outdoor season takes place in Ayr on 12th April.

National Road Relays – Livingston

The team showed great spirit, with experienced athletes stepping in to help complete the line-up, underlining the strength of the club across generations. The men’s team finished 21st overall, with Alex Maley leading off with a solid 18:00 on the opening leg.
