Ross Gollan was representing Scotland at the Snowdon International Hill race in Wales. Due to poor weather the race had to be shortened and probably did not suit Ross. His 9th place helped Scotland finish 2nd in the team race .
Two Shettleston athletes made the trip to London with the Glasgow Jaguars Team – Amit Kumar recording 1.91m in the High Jump and Teddy Tchoudja 13.95m in the Shot .

Lynn McKenna (5km Road ) and Jamie Burns (10000mTrack) have recently won Senior National Titles .As per the club rules both have been awarded Honorary Life Membership of the club. A great honour for both of these young athletes. They join a glittering list which includes Nat Muir ,Cameron Sharp, Weynay Ghebersilasie ,Lachie Stewart and probably a few of more familiar names to club members Avril Mason ,Lachlan Oates, Jethro Lennox and club secretary, John Mackay .
The third person to receive this special award on Saturday morning was John Montgomery -a name not so familiar to club members. John has association with the Shettleston brand for over 40 years and has had a major contribution to coaching at the club. His daughter competed for the parallel women’s club, Shettleston Harriers Ladies, in the 1980’s before having a very successful career in women’s football. Like many parents, John started coaching and has experienced a high level of success in this field with athletes from a number of clubs. Working with Shettleston Harriers athletes with included Adam Lee ,Matthew Gillespie ,Lachlan Oates and Avril Mason, to name a few, the club has reaped the benefit of his knowledge and skill. His close link to Glasgow University has allowed a flow of athletes into the club and the recent fantastic success of our Ladies is due to this link. John was delighted to receive this special award for the club.
