The sun was out to greet our return to division 1 of the Central & South of Scotland Athletic League (CSSAL) at our home track Crownpoint. The league has now been running for over 50 years and this was probably one of the best ever conditions for the first match of the outdoor season.

We played host to the other clubs in the division – Kilmarnock (last years champions), Ayr Seaforth (runners up last year), Airdrie, Corstorphine, Law & District, Giffnock North and Victoria Park City of Glasgow.

We managed to fill most slots available in the team thanks to the hard work of team manager, Jackie Alexander and the coaches. We managed wins from Gavin Bodrell (100m Senior men B), Michael Paxton (800m Master Men B), Carson Graham (High Jump SM), Harry Bell (Long jump U13 boy) and Molly Brown (100m) U13 Girl. Chloe Fox (javelin) was throwing in a new age group and weight – 24.43 was a U20 and senior women club record.

There were also PBs aplenty…
– Alicja Taborek – Long jump – 4.25
– Estelle Girard – High Jump – 1.41
– Molly Brown – Shot Putt – 6.13
– Zoe Roberts – Shot Putt – 4.90
