The weekend kicked off with the Classic Glasgow University 5 mile Road Race with continued success for the club .We had a double with Taha Ghafari and Clare Stewart both taking wins. Taha also broke the course record with a time 23.54  when kicking away from clubmate, Jamie Burns, in the last mile. The previous record was 23.57 held by Chris Mackay set in 2010  – This was the 4th year in a row a Shettleston athlete has won the event (Jamie twice and now Taha twice). It was a case of them changing positions after last weeks great Scottish 10km race! Full results are not yet available but we believe Paul Sorrie was 2nd master to complete a trio of male club runners. New member, Clare Stewart, in her 2nd run for the club made it a great double for the club taking the ladies win -the first time a club member has won the ladies race . She was support by team mates Tara Walker and Club President, Elaine Mackay . Full results will be posted as they become available.
