Another packed weekend of action for Shettleston Harriers, with our athletes competing near and far!

International Honours at Snowdonia Mountain Race!
Shettleston Harriers athletes were back on international duty this weekend, with Dan Dry and Harry Pulham proudly representing Scotland in the 2025 Ras Yr Wyddfa – Snowdonia International Mountain Race in Wales on Saturday. Like the world-famous Ben Nevis race, the Snowdonia International is a true ‘bucket list’ event on the calendar, attracting a truly international field.
Dan Dry finished the gruelling race in an excellent 15th place overall, just behind his Scotland team-mate Harris Pagett (Strathern Harriers). Harry Pulham also put in a strong performance, finishing 43rd in the men’s race. Their efforts contributed to Scotland finishing fourth in the team event. The race itself was dominated by the formidable Italian team, with Luca Magri winning overall and team-mates Michael Galassi and Roberto Giacomotti making it a clean sweep of the podium places and securing the team prize. A huge congratulations to both Dan and Harry on their international vests and impressive performances!

Weekend Open Graded PB Performances
A few of our young athletes had been busy at the weekend travelling to Aberdeen and Grangemouth to prepare for the National Championships in August. We are not sure if Molly Brown (U/13) had time to look at the Tall Ships event in Aberdeen over the weekend but she was certainly speedy on the track. PB performances over 100m (13.74 W/S 0.5) and 200m (28.04 W/S 0.2) with legal winds have cemented her rankings in the top five in Scotland 100m (4) and 200m (3). In a busy afternoon for her she just missed her PB in the LJ by 1cm recording another legal performance of 3.84m.
The Lanahan Brothers have had a few excellent months over a number of events and Abraham (U/17) should have been representing Scotland in the Triple Jump in Derby on Saturday. A knee injury put him out of this event which is a real same as he is one of the top ranked boys in UK in this event. Abraham put this disappointment behind him and travelled to Grangemouth with younger brother Joseph (U/15) to take part in the Scottish athletics Throws Grand Prix. Both boys produces some excellent performances and PB over different events
Joseph (U/15)-
Javelin -34.47m PB (Ranked 2nd in Scotland)

J -12.73 PB (Ranked 5th in UK and 1st in Scotland )
Abraham(U/17)
