Congratulations to Godwan Imante (UK School Games ) and Teddy Tchoudja (English Throw Feast) who have been both selected for international matches next weekend. Club President Elaine Mackay has also be asked to be a Team Manager at the UK School Games. Congratulations to them all along with coaches ,G ordon Bury and John Scott.
An international feel to the club was again in evidence over the weekend with a few athletes travelling to Ireland for the Antrim Coast 1/2 marathon. Fionnuala Ross was in top form when she placed 4th in an international field in a time of 73.58. Ladies Captain Avril Mason ran 81.23 to place 2nd F45 and Chris McGarrity completed the club members in action running 69.44. Also in Ireland John Duffy competed in the Donegal Half Marathon championships picking up a place prize in a time of 85minutes.
Day 2 of the U/13/U/20 Scottish Championship saw a new club record/PB performances and yet another championship medal for Godwin Imante

August 21st ParkRun Action
Lots of activity in the northern parkruns this weekend starting with Aberdeen Parkrun. Emma Purdie was 5th female. At Aviemore parkrun Holly Morrison was 4th, Callum Oates was 5th, John Oates was 11th and Amy Maclellan was 18th.
At Strathclyde Parkrun, Kirsty Mann continues to improve with another personal best for 2nd female. Matthew Turner took another first place at Linwood Parkrun in a time of 16.37. At Tollcross Parkrun Paul Mcguigan was 5th and David Murphy was 11th. Victoria Parkrun, Gillian McMillan ran a time of of 32.18.
At Westpark run, Scott Kennedy finished in 22nd place. At the Lochend Woods Parkrun, Daniel Lowe took first place in a time of 18.24. Drumpellier Parkrun , John Duffy ran strong in 17th position in a time of 19.28. Finally at the queens parkrun, Chris Pantrey came across the line first place in a time of 18.33. Susan Breckenridge finished in 26.09.

Summer conditions for shettleston parkrunners
Saturday morning brought a last blast of summer for park runners with good performances from shettleston club runners.
At Greenock Parkrun mark mccoll improved last weeks time for 7th place.
Peter Avent had a good run at the Edinburgh parkrun for 4th place in 15.24. The winning time was 15.15 !
Cara mccafferty ran the bury st Edmunds parkrun in a time of 33.49.
At Linwood parkrun Matthew turner dipped under 16 min for 2nd place in 15.57. First Lady was Jennifer wetton of central in 17.34.
At Tollcross parkrun another top 10 place for David Murphy in 23.04. Steven brown finished in 26.52.
At Victoria parkrun Denis Williams ran 18.45 and Kirsty Mann ran 20.05. Kirsty is enjoying the parkruns and not long before she runs under 20 min.
At Lyme park run Tom Owens came first in 18.04.
At springburn parkrun Jodie Waite finished in 31.09 and joe haughey in 22.45.
Fifth place for Paul Mcguigan at Drumpellier parkrun in a time of 20.43.
At queens parkrun it was a close one with calum Oates Serling for second place with 17.48 missing first by 4 seconds.
Finally saving the best to last was our very own Ross Gollan taking first place at Torvean Parkrun in a time of 15.12. Ross took second place at this years national cross country and is also an accomplished international athlete in trail and hill running. He has often been referred to as “the gollanator” by his club mates due to his commanding performances in races. Well done Ross and everyone who did parkruns this weekend.
