In another very busy weekend for the club athletes were competing around the world and all over Scotland.

Pride of place must go to Ross Gollan who was competing for GB in Chiang Mai (Thailand) in the World Mountain Running Championships. He finished 20th in the up and down short race in a World class field and he was part of a GB team which finished 5th.

Closer to home a large group of Harriers travelled to Kirkcaldy in Fife for the Scottish Short Course Cross Country Championships. After the recent success of the Ladies team the men were determined to outshine the Ladies this week. They were rewarded with an excellent bronze in the team race with Lachlan Oates, Taha Ghafari, Chris McGarrity and Daniel Bradford the counting four. It was great to see large numbers out and 17 men competed.

The ladies also had a reason to celebrate as their 5th place was the highest, they had finished in the team competition since they ladies and men become one club. This continues the great start to the season for them. Again large numbers out for the ladies

On Sunday it was great to see a large number of our younger athletes compete in Springburn Harriers School/Club junior cross country races at Kirkintilloch. Full results are not available yet but we know Ronia Jatto (1st pre-school), Adain Grant(3rd P2), Rowan Lennox (1st P3/P4) and Louis Millican (1st P3/4) were all on the podium.

We had many other young athletes who competed and we will get the results up ASAP.

It was great see the young athletes enjoying getting covered in mud -not sure if the Mums and Dads liked this! Some photos of the youngsters below
