More great news over the weekend as it was confirmed Katie Woods (U/15) was selected to represent Scotland in the London Mini Marathon. Your first international selection is very special and everyone at the club sends our congratulations to Katie and her proud parents.
Ross Gollan returned to top form to take 4th place in the UK up/down Hill trial at the weekend .His reward was selection for the Great Britain for the World Championships in Thailand in November!
As the track season draws to a close it is good to reflect on the effort from our athletes/coaches and parents organising our teams and athletes in the various leagues and championships. Of course we include our officials who gave up their time to allow our athletes to compete.
Our U/17 Men Sprinters completed a great season when they won and broke the club record taking the National 4x 100m title at Grangemouth on Saturday, Ethan, Godwin, Maynard and Lucky were clear winners in an exciting final.
The following day the club played host to the Lanarkshire Track & Field Championships at Crownpoint.
Full results are not available but the club picked up a number of titles and medals throughout a very busy day. Thank you to all the club members who helped in any way – tuck shop/set up /officials and coaches – a great end to a very busy track & field season.
The Indoor and Cross Country for 2022/2023 season will start next month, first up will be the West District XC Relays on 8th Oct, check out the follow link ClubServe (sportserve.net) Please note not all events are on the list yet.
A number of road races took place over the last few days and of course Shettleston athletes were in attendance.
Great North Run – Congratulations to Ben Fullerton who smashed his PB by over 4mins in this classic event when record a time of 1hr34.27 – a reward for hard training.
Cumbernauld 10km -John Duffy picked up a 3rd place in the M50 age group in his home town event

Hannah Terrance made her club debut in this classic event and she will be great addition to our ladies team.
