The main race in Scotland this weekend was the Tom Scott Memorial Race which also contained the Scottish 10mile Championships. There was a small turn out from the club in this historic race. Paul Sorrie, a regular in this race, finished 5th M40 in a time of 55.32. Hannah Terrance, in preparation for her first marathon, finished 9th Senior lady in a time of 61.14. Two other Shettleston athletes competed -Kirsten Vieira da Lux (26th F35 -1.16.24) and Andrew Kirkhope (18th MV60 -1.22.20)

In the international  vein, congratulations to former member Clement Eliot on his marathon debut in Paris with an excellent time of 2.29.16. Clement competed for the club during his student days in Glasgow contributing to medals at the National Cross and West District championships before returning home to France .

Even further afield Aidan Quinn competing for his US College went to the top of the Scottish Rankings in the Triple Jump (15.57) at the event in Austin ,Texas, USA.

Congratulations to Mike Deason who completed his 100km ultra race in the Anglo Celtic Plate event at Craigavon ,Northern Ireland. His time of 7hrs 18.10 placed him 13th in a highly competitive event
