The 53rd running of the Allan Scally Memorial Relay was again blessed with great weather and a record entry of 258 teams. This  must be the biggest club road relay in the UK and easily beats the  records in the George Cummings, McAndrew , Kingsway and Fernside  Relays which were run in the past. The record entry for the Scally relay was last year when 186 teams entered. The club would like to thank all the teams who made the effort to make this event such a successful. From Aberdeen in the North , Gala in the South ,Ayr in the West and Edinburgh in the East – 47 different clubs toed the line in the event with 220 complete teams finishing the event, that was an increase of 55 from the previous year.

It was a great day for the University clubs with the winners of both the men’s and ladies event coming from Stirling University (Men) and Glasgow University (Ladies). The team from Stirling made a bit of history being the first male University team to win the event with the Glasgow ladies team winning for the 5th time .The course records were still intact at the end of the race and we still wait for a sub 60min -Maybe next year!
