With athletes competing over 7 different events it was a frantic end to the winter season .

Our young athletes kicked off the busy week at the Scottish Schools Cross Country Championships at the magnificent Hopeton House venue in Southqueens Ferry. Zoe Roberts confirmed her run at the National Cross Country Championships was a great 5th place in the U/14 Girls event.

U/14 Boys: 58th Euan Gran-Pantry

U/15 Girls: 38th Mairi Stephens

U/17 Girls: 28th Katie Woods

Katie Woods then travelled to Nottingham on Saturday to represent the West of Scotland in the Inter-Counties Cross County Championships  finishing 88th

Meanwhile on Saturday Paul Sorrie finished 7th and first M40 in the Kings Building 5 mile race in Edinburgh

Eilidh Bell produced a great run at the Barcelona Marathon on Sunday  to record a PB of 2.40.07 .This moves her to the top 10 in the UK for this year. Eilidh was slightly disappointed to miss the sub 2.40 mark but pleased with her PB. Eilidh was a finisher for us at the recent European Clubs Cross Country Championships. Gerry Pelgeri was also in the race but dropped out with cramp.

Sunday was also the day for the Scottish ½ Marathon Championships in Inverness -T op male finisher was Fred Davies in 15th position in a time of 69.57 – Fred is in his final preparations for the London Marathon where he will be joined by Weyany Ghebresilasie who has been confirmed in the elite field .Top lady finishers was Avril Mason who finished 8th in the ladies event and quite likely to medal in the masters age group

Men : 15th Fred Davies 69.57, 73rd Max McKee 77.22, 76th Callum Buttersworth 77.42, 79th Adam Peters 77.54, 297th Ben Fullarton 90.31

Ladies: Avril Mason 81.59, Victoria Riddell 86.07

Also in the Glasgow Area we had athletes competing in Down by the River 10km and Jack Crawford 10km
