Congratulations to Weyany Ghebresilasie and Eilidh Bell on their selection to compete for Scotland at the Antrim Coast ½ marathon on the 27th August. Weynay’s name will be more familiar to club members but Eilidh has made a big impact since joining in February.

She was brought up near Stirling and joined the Navy before taking up an engineering post in Leeds, where is now based. She was delighted to join the club leading the ladies’ teams to victory in the National Cross Country and at the recent National 10km in Glasgow Green. She also boasts an impressive PB over the marathon 2hrs 44.56 and was previously part of the Scottish Athletics marathon project

Weynay is currently training in Ethiopia at altitude and will travel home on the 22nd August to finalise his preparations for the ½ marathon. All club members should have a read of the story Fred Davis has written for the website about his 8 weeks with Weynay at altitude.
