With the Cross Country and Road Season now in full swing, the attention turned to The Lanarkshire AAA Road Relays at Drumpillar Park in Coatbridge.

Our Under 11 Girls were the first up as they tested themselves over the 1.2 k course. The B Team of Gwen Ofoegbu (5.21), Katie Woods (5.10) and Emma Leiper (5.12) finished an excellent 6th with the A Team of Bailey McCauley (5.09), Lucymay Smith (5.46) and Beatrice Wainwright (5.48) finishing 8th

11th C team Katie Burns (6.06), Violet Campbell (5.09), Sophie Fuge (6.06)

13th D team Erin Orr (5.48), Emily Chatham (6.27), Rosie Burns (7.01)

The boys team finished 5th with Ethan Ofoegbu running the first leg in 4.49 (5th fastest on the day), Jospeh Reilly was next in 5.12 and Lachlan Maclean rounded the team with a 5.26 leg.

13th B team Luke Struthers (6.11), Ruaridh Prentice (6.18), Kyle McKinlay (6.36)

1st leg 7th Adam Clifford (5.00)

The Under 13 Girls Team saw Chloe Orr running 7.51 to give the team a solid start with Jenna Dolan out next, Erin Ellor running last and recorded the 4th fastest time of the day to bring the team in 4th, just outside the medals. Olivia Millar ran 8.52 with Chloe Fitzpatrick running 11.10.

Johnny Burns (7.21), Ruaridh Campbell (7.41) and David Woods (6.26)  combined to bring home the bronze medal in the Under 13 Boys event. David running last and the fastest time of the day showed that he  in excellent form at the moment. Stephen Lynch ran the first leg as well.

In the Under 15 Girls Elsie Hollywood ran 9.21 with Aleix Donnachie’s time 10.43.

Gregor Campbell had made a 200 mile journey from Campbeltown with brother Ruaridh , and sister, Violet, and was starting out in the first leg looking for the gold this time and recorded the 2nd fastest time(8.09) of the day, Theo Carter (8.48) handed Kasey the lead who ensured that the victory was Shettleston Harriers with the fastest time of the day (8.02)

The Under 17 Woman’s race saw Hannah Lynch also picking up a medal in 3rd  with Deborah Donnachie running 17.43, the men team finished 5th with Marc McColl (14.20), Richard Millar (17.21), William Bardsley (12.40) and Paul Sorrie (12.43)
