Sunday saw the club heading to Hamilton Race Course for the West District Cross Country Relay Championships. Hamilton has a special place in the history of Cross Country with this being the venue for the 1st World Championships in 1903 so it was great to continue a great tradition at the venue.
With the going soft the first off were our young girls , Chloe Orr was the fastest on the day with 11.34, Jesscia Grant ran 11.50, Erin Ellor 12.09 and Kamryn Wilson 12.28.
The Boys team ran well to finish 7th and 13th , on the first leg David Woods ran 10.01 for the A team , with Euan Charlwood and Johnny Burns running well to keep the other team in the mix. Next up was Kasey Fraser and Gregor Campbell with James Burns (7th fastest on the day) bring in the A Team in 7th place. Lewis Raeburn building on his recent form brought his team into 13th place recording the 2nd fastest of the day in the boys event.
Charlene Marley, Avril Mason and Ruth Joss had the team performance of the day when they picked up the bronze medals. Ruth Joss had a great last leg pulling the team into the medal position and recording the 8th fastest time of the day. The B team of Oonagh Dunnett, Emma Dunnett and Rhona Galloway finished 17th.
The Senior A team of William Bradley, Matthew Turner, Tewolde Mengisteab, and Paul Sorrie finished 5th with Matthew Turner recording the 3rd fastest time of the day
