Race reporter: Bill Breckenridge

Tinto Hill Race traditionally marks the end of the hill running season although there are a couple of races left in the calendar for the die-hards. 17 Shetts made the start line for a relatively straightforward sprint up and down the 711m peak and for the first time this year the club was able to field a ladies team!! There were some strong runs from the men but the standout performances of the day were from our female representatives. Ruth Stanley stormed over the line to take home a bronze medal and a bottle of wine and Rowan Lennox (5 years old) in her first hill race left her grandfather trailing in her wake in the junior race to claim 5th place and her prize…a milky way! Well done ladies…more of the same next year please!

Ruth in action and still smiling even going uphill!
