An intrepid crew of Shets headed south down the M74 for the ever popular Tinto hill race. It was a pretty cold overcast day, and there were some pathetic scenes as Messrs. Connaghan, Henderson, Pender and Ramsay huddled in the car before the start trying to keep the chill wind at bay. However, after a quick warm up the team were raring to go on what is a very runnable course.

First home for the club was Robert Simpson (3rd overall), closely followed by Grant Boyne (4th) and Michael Deason (6th). Next across the finish line was John Connaghan (9th), who took 2nd Vet40 on the day, and also made it four Shets in the top ten. Walter Henderson continued his great run of form by knocking four minutes off his previous best for the race and may have his new strength & conditioning coach Casey Morgan to thank for this? TJ wants his money back from Casey because he came home six seconds slower than last year! There were also strong runs from Ross Cruickshanks and Iain Pender, with just fourteen seconds separating the bearded duo. I brought up the rear and was thankful my specs stayed in place on the eyeball popping descent.
