The 27th December saw some excellent performances from a number of Shettleston athletes, finishing off the year in some style. The Tilli 10km runs from Tillicoultry to Dollar and back, is a flat fast 10km. Second place team prize was claimed by our men behind a strong Central team. First home for the club was Peter Avent in a fast time of 30.24(PB) in 5th position. Chris McGarrity continues his improvement and return to the standards he set as a boy with a massive PB of 30.53 in 9th place. Lachlan Oates not at his best placed 14th in a time of 31.11. Adam Peters finished in 31st in a time of 33.51.

Two ladies made the trip to Tillcoultry, Holly Morrison (40.02) and Bryony McLeod (46.15)

Meanwhile down south just outside Ripon (north of Leeds) Dan Lowe was tackling a slightly slower course in the Jolly Holly Jog. This is a 10km race starting at Hell Wath Nature Reserve, goes up Whitcliffe Lane onto public footpaths through Mackershaw Woods and through Studley Deer Park. Dan finished 14th in 41:16 but more importantly beat his brother, Clinton Lowe, by 19 seconds. That speed work proving very useful.
