Friday Nights saw the Scottish 10,000m Track Championships at our home track, Crownpoint. Brian Scally added to his recent medal haul in South Korea by picking up the Over 50 10k track title, in the Over 35 event Paul Sorrie picked up the silver medal. Denis Williams ran 37.16.33 to finish 8th in the D Race.
On Saturday a number of Young Athletes travelled to a cold and windy East Kilbride to compete at the John Wright Track in the Lanarkshire Track Relay Championships. The Under 17 Women’s Team of Jodie Mitchell, Hannah Lynch and Kirsty Macintyre picked up the bronze medal in the 3 x 800m event. Kirsty is the lucky mascot for this event as that was her 3rd medal in 3 years. Kirsty had a busy day as she combined with Erica Moura, Catriona Brannan and Gracie Gardner to run 55.1 for the 4 x 100m, the best performance by an Under 17 Women’s team for 5 years.
The 4 x 100m event saw our Under 11 Girls team of Lucymay Smith, Freya Laverty,Chloe Fox and Iona Dearie run 69.7, the boys of Matthew Fox, Reece Collins, Joseph Reilly and Ethan Ofoegbu run 67.6
The Under 13 Girls (Sarah Graham, Anna McDowell, Millie Macintosh, Survannah Batchelor) ran 63.7, Under 13 Boys A team (Jay McCarthy, Stephen Lynch, Jackson Kennedy, Shaun Donnachie ) time was 67.6 with the Composite team (David Woods, Oliver Cartwright, Ruaridh Prentice, Matthew Fox) ran 66.6.
The Under 15 Girls team (Teddy Tchoudja, Molly McLean, Elsie Hollywood, Ruby Garrick) finished with a time of 58.6
The Under 13 girls had two team in the 3 x 800m , the A team of Chloe Orr (2.56.9), Kamryn Wilson (2.57.0), Jessica Grant (2.59.9) finished 4th in 8.53.7, the B team (Millie Mcintosh (3.23.0), Erin Ellor (3.12.0), Anna McDowell (3.23.0) finished 9th in 9.52.1.
The Under 13 Boys team finished 6th in 9.05.1 with Oliver Cartwright running 2.58.3 (Uo), Shaun Donnachie 3.27.6 and David Woods 2.39.3.
Elsie Hollywood (2.44.0), Aleix Donnachie (2.56.5) and Molly Mclean (3.00.1) combined to finish 6th in 8.28.6. (Please note all 800m times are unofficial )

All members please note the first Babcock Series event takes place on Wednesday night (3rd May 2017) at Helensburgh (start 7.30pm). Entries will be taken on the night until 7pm (Please remember club members are entitled to a discount). The front end of the field looks great with Olympic and World Championship’s athletes due to compete.
