Three young Shettleston athletes tasted international competition for the first time on Saturday at the Celtic international Games at Grangemouth.

Teddy Tchoudja and Mjraji Ahmad for the Scottish team and Jamie Burns for the Scottish Futures team .This is a great honour for these athletes and I am sure everyone in the club sends congratulations to them ,their families and coaches .

It was a great day for Teddy (pictured with club teammate , Jay McCarthy) winning the U/18 Shot in a PB performances of 13.95m which moved her into the top 5 in the UK in her first year in the age group. Teddy also did an age group best record for the 3k Shot.  Mjraji confirmed his number 1 ranking in the UK winning the triple Jump in an excellent 14.52m

The middle distances events were a real tactical battle with the athletes jogging until the last lap. Jamie Burns finished 4th in his event running a sub 58seconds last lap.

With the National championships for Seniors due to take place next weekend some of our senior athletes were in action competing for their British league teams

Meanwhile at Livingston, Under 11 Matthew Fox was competing in a Quadrathlon, Matthew did a personal best in the four events to pick up the silver medal with a 5.34m Shot, 3.51m Long Jump, 12.48s 80m and a 2.00.75 600m, well done Matthew.
