Its non stop for club members at the moment with athletes competing over different surfaces and events.
David Woods (U/13) has been using the open graded events throughout events in the central belt to chase PB and its worked. Last Tuesday(13th June ) night he recorded a PB’s over 1500m (5.07.94) and 200m(31.57)
Friday night (16th June) saw one of the fastest 10km every ran in Scotland. The Brian Goodwin 10km is run over a two lap course in Pollok Park . Olympic athlete, Callum Hawkins, set a fast pace from the gun pulling Luke Traynor and Tewodle Mengisteab well clear. Callum ran a super time of 29.12, a PB on the road followed home by Luke again in a super time of 29.25. Both of these times will feature high on the Scottish all time lists. Tewodle finished 3rd in a seasons best (31.20) and he continues to improve with every race .The pace was just too fast for him at present. It was a pity Wayney did not make the start line due to injury because he may have broken 30 minutes in such a race. Amanuel Hagos
finished 5th in another season best of 32.55 – Amanuel is slowly come back to his best. It was a night of PB performances with Chris Mutch finishing 115th in a time of 40.27. The best run of the night came from our only lady in the race – Mhairi Donaldson. She took over 2 minutes from her PB to run 43.56 to finish 21st Lady. Mhairi has put in a lot of training in recent months and she is reaping the benefit .
