Two of our younger athletes experienced international athletics for the first time over the weekend. Dundonald in Northern Ireland was the venue for this year’s Celtic International. With Lewis Raeburn (U/20) and Gregor Campbell (U/17) making the Scotland teams it was a great occasion for the club.

Gregor was moving up from the U/15 age group to the U/17 as per IAAF age groups. It was a great learning curve for this young athlete. Starting fast and trying to force the pace he faded in the closing stages to finish an excellent 32nd helping Scotland to finish 4th overall in the team event.

Lewis was making his first appearance in a Scotland Team one week after running for the Scottish Students at the Stirling Inter Area event. He finished 21st in the Celtic Event helping Scotland to win the U/20 take the team event.

Andrew Gibson was also competing in another country this weekend- Just popping across the border to Carlisle to finish 10th in a field of close to 500.
