Lewis Raeburn continued to shine in a night which will be remembered for heavy rain and a flooded track at Scotstoun. It is interesting to look at Lewis progress at these championships as he pick up a silver medal in a close finish with Cameron Watson of Kilbarchan over 300om 

His time of 8.38.42 was a PB performance and another indication of the improvement he is making.See below his improvement over the last few years at this championships.

Fellow Shettleston athletes took the opportunity to race over 3000m with Matthew Turner (8.45.16) ,David Houston(9.21.62) and Jennifer Martin (11.13.70) and in the 800m Dan Lowe ran 2.13.82.

The previous Wednesday at Crownpoint saw the GAA Sprint Gala. A number of our younger athletes took this opportunity to race over the 100m, with performances by Adam Clifford (PB 14.90), Mark Clifford (PB 16.07), Callum Thomson (16.04) and Ethan Ofeogbu (14.32). In the long jump Ethan jumped 3.88 with Callum jumping 3.33. Jay McCarthy won the shot 11.93 , Teddy Tchoudja also won with 13.64 and Hannah Struthers finished 2nd in a PB of 8.35m. In the Senior event Angus McInroy recorded a season best of 14.19m

At the YDL in Carlisle Teddy continued her winning ways with a throw of 11.75 in the shot and a PB in the Hammer. Jodie Mitchell had a busy day with a 2.55.44 800m, 5.51.95 1500m and improved her club record in the 1500m Steeplechase with a time of 6.44.91. Elsie Hollywood ran 5.10.19 in the 1500m with a Pb in the 3000m (11.41.02).

Last weekend (2nd June 2019) saw a number of members competing at the CSSL League Match 1 at East Kilbride, from our older members to our youngest members , no results yet available.
