This weekend saw Shettleston Harriers’ competing from Inverness to Loughborough and everywhere in between.

Saturday saw club members making the journey to :Loughborough for the UKA Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships. Running for Scotland West, Avril Mason finished 36th , Katleigh Jarrett 37th and Ruth Joss 72nd to help the Senior Women’s team to finish 6th. In the Under 15 Girl’s event Erin Ellor finished 181st. David Woods was 179th in the Under 15 boys event.

Carson Graham made the trip to Sheffield for the UK Masters Indoor Cahmpionships. Carson picked up two silver medals and a 4th place. A jump of 1.65m for the silver in the High Jump and just missed the gold in the Long Jump as 1st and 2nd was only decided on countback with a jump 5.76m. He recorded 9.46s in the 60m Hurdles. All season bests.

On Sunday action switched to Inverness with the 1/2 Marathon. Building on his performance the previous weekend Weynay Gebreselasie won the title in a time of 65.06 from Kenny Wilson of Moray Road Runners. Other Shettleston’s runners : 52nd Adam Peters 80.47, 214th Jan Gruter 91.37, 387th Christopher Mutch 98.46.

Closer to home was the Jack Crawford 10k and Junior Races at Bishopbriggs. In the 10k Matthew Sullivan was 4th in 32.54, meanwhile in the Junior event Jessica Grant was 3rd in the S2 Girls race with Chloe Fox finishing 2nd in S1 Girls Race. Matthew Fox was 4th overall in the S1 to S6 Boys Race.
