With the club big event at Glasgow Green other members were also up to plenty of things all over Scotland and beyond.

Firstly, everyone would like to send their best wishes  to Ross Gollan ,Tom Owens  and Ruth Joss on have been chosen to represent Scotland, in particular to Ruth Joss who received her first Scottish Vest. The event takes place in Sedbergh on Saturday 2 June and is also the British trial for GB and NI teams for the European Championships.

Mark Dry was competing for Great Britain in Germany at the Halle International Throws where he was 11th with a best throw of 70.04. Chris Bennett had also been chosen but had to withdraw due to injury. At IFA Meeting, Oordegem, Belguim saw David Martin jump 7.13 (+0.4) to finish 5th in the Long Jump.

In the Edinburgh Half Marathon Avril Mason finished 90th in a time of 81.20 with Andrew Kirkhope running 109.90 in 2646 position.

Meanwhile at the Mull of Kintyre 10k Matthew Turner won in a time of 33.15 (which we hear is a course record) with brother, Gary, in 10th place in 40.09.

The Black Rock ‘5’ Mile at Kinghom, Fife on Friday saw Mhairi Donaldson run  36.52 to finish 545th. John Duffy before a early rise and a busy day volunteering on Sunday to help at the Club’s 10k decided to make to trip to the Bathgate Highland Games to run the Weslo Cairnpapple  Road Race were he finished 9th and first M50.

Sunday 27th May was also saw some of our Under 17 and Under 20 athletes representing Glasgow at the Northern Premier Match at Wavertree in Liverpool. The 1500m saw 3 club members picking up victories with Lewis Raeburn (4.06.40 PB), Jamie Burns (4.07.18) and Elsie Hollywood (5.20.71). Elsie also ran the 3000m finishing 4th in 11.58.26. Kasey Fraser had a really busy day competing in the 800m (4th 2.15.38), 1500m (4th 4.39.14) and 100m Hurdles (3rd 21.38 +1.6). Teddy Tehoudja was 3rd in the Shot with a distance of 11.01.

At Kilmarnock we had a number of our young athletes (and a few seniors) competing in the CSS League, no results as yet.
