As summer eventually came to Glasgow  on Friday evening, a big night of athletics returned to Crownpoint – as Peter Jardine (Scottish Athletics) wrote “the fastest track in Glasgow” and this helped our four athletes to achieve personal best performances. One of our newest members, Aoife Carr, recorded a time of 9.56.21 over the 3000m event, breaking the club’s women’s record. Aoife has recently graduated from Glasgow University and will be a great asset to the ladies endurance team. Ladies captain, Avril Mason, also scored a PB over 3000m in a time of 10.19.81.

The 800m series saw  PB  performances from Dan Lowe 2.07.77 and U/15 athlete Matthew Fox 2.12.04.

Sunday saw Match 2 of the CSSL League at Linwood, initial report show the club finished 3rd and plenty of great performances , full results to follow.

Meanwhile on Saturday saw Abraham Lanahan and Estelle Giraud headed to Grangemouth for the Secondary Pentathlon Championships, results have not yet be published but we have heard that Abraham picked up a silver medal. Well done to both athletes.
