The club finished with it’s highest position for 11 years in the Scottish Men’s Athletic League on Sunday at Kilmarnock. Finishing 2nd was a great achievement after promotion for Division 2 last year .Great groundwork was put in place in the first three matches and a very young squad finished it off at Kilmarnock at the last match. It was more like a winters day at Kilmarnock with a cold and wet day. Normally you think it was not a day for PB performances but that was not the case. Lewis Raeburn broke 2mins for the first time running 1.59.65, Jamie Burns finished 2nd in the 1500m in a PB time of 4.00.95 and David Martin ran 22.01 for a PB over 200m – great runs from all these athletes .
U/17 Kasey Fraser made his first appearance in the league recording a PB of 57.66 after running the 800m. It was true team effort with many athletes doing three events to make sure we achieved our goal of finishing 2nd overall. David Little and Peter Whiteman did all the throws .Paul Easdale covering the sprints and both relays. The endurance boy’ s of Andy Jackson ,David Houston ,Daniel Bradford ,Tewodle Mengisteab ,Lewis Raeburn and Jamie Burns putting in great performances to collect valuable points .
Amit Kumar and David Martin jumped and sprinted to the highest standards. Full results
