This weekend saw the British Championships at Birmingham with the club’s Commonwealth athletes looking for a place at the European Championships in Berlin in August. Chris Bennett picked up the bronze medal in the Hammer and an automatic place in Berlin with a throw of 73.29. Well done Chris ! Commonwealth Games bronze mediallist , Mark Dry , was 3rd in 71.40 while in the Discus Angus McInroy finished 11th in 47.48.

At Carlisle Team Glasgow were completing in the Northern Premier YDL match, Lewis Raeburn had a busy day with a Personal bests in the 800m (2.00.45), 400m Hurdles (62.53) and the 200m Steeplechase (6.11.98). Shona Crossan was also had a busy day and  picked up full points in the Shot (10.08), Discus (32.43) and the Hammer (21.38) before running the 1500m Steeplechase in 7.26.10 to finish 4th the B race. In the Under 17 event Jack Guthrie finished 2nd in the 100m with Teddy Tehoudja throwing a PB in the discus (23.74) and 1st in the shot.
