Carson Graham made the trip to Derby for the British Master Track and Field Championships this weekend. Carson won the gold in the M45 Sprint Hurdles, with a bronze in the Long Jump and finished 4th in the High Jump

Meanwhile closer to home the final Combined League Match took place in Grangemouth on Sunday -This series of match’s have been a great success and the club hopes they will continue to be in this format in the future. Over the series nearly 80 Shettleston athletes have had the opportunity to compete, many for the first time .The club is grateful to John and Elaine Mackay who have organised the entries and volunteered at 4 of the 5 matches. John Coyle and Kevin Slaven have also officiated at these matches. Without this help the club cannot operate.

The Grangemouth match saw many fine performances over a range of events -Chris Bennett again achieved a Commonwealth game qualifying distance with a throw of 71.47m in the hammer, Amit Kumar jumped an impressive 6.36m in the Long Jump. Lots of Personal Best performances and for some athletes it was their first time competing at a Track and Field event.
