In Malaga (Spain) this weekend, Brian Scally started off his time at the World Masters athletic Championships by competing in the first of his three events, He just missed qualification in the M50 800m running a PB (Master Age Group) in 2.12.51. He will keep us update in his progress in the 1500m and 5000m later this week.

Congratulations to Daniel Bradford who finished his season off with another PB over 1500m at the BMC meeting at Stretford ( Manchester ) a few weeks ago – 3.56.81 – Daniel finished 4th in the Scottish 1500m championships last month. It was good to see Mhairi Donaldson out running again after a number of injuries .She was the only club member competing in the Scottish Trail championships last weekend in Fife finishing 32nd

Meanwhile on Sunday at Grangemouth the curtain came down on the 2018 Track and Field Season when all the age groups competed in the CSSL. With downpours through out the days it proved to be a challenging day for athletics and everyone done really well to compete to their best.  While we do not have all the results as yet (still waiting for 1200m and 1500m results as well as some field events) the following people did Personal Bests or Season Bests with the results we have : Callum Thomson (150m), Waris Muuse (150m), Chloe Fox (150m), Violet Campbell (200m, Javelin), Ethan Ofoegbu (75m Hurdles), Ruaridh Campbell (Shot), Adam Martin (200m), Rios Dickens (200m),  Carson Graham (200m), Mark Grant (200m, Shot), John Duffy (200m, Shot), Alex Mackay (200m, Long Jump)

Again a huge thank you to all  the club officials and helpers who gave up their free time to help the meeting to go ahead : Elaine Mackay, David Wallace, Kevin Slaven , Alistair Rodgers, Hazel Frew and the helpers at Admin, Tracey Fox and Hannah Lynch. THANK YOU
