Avril Mason continued her recent success with a win at the Scottish Short Course Championships in the Masters F40 age group. Avril is have a great season recently winning the F40 10km championships and helping her team place 3rd in the recent West District Relay championships .The men’s team finished 3rd behind a strong Inverclyde team and Edinburgh. Lachlan Oates was first Harrier across the line in 5th place followed by Tewodle Mengisteab(15) ,Daniel Bradford (25) and Lewis Raeburn(34) to complete the medal winning team. The men had a great turn out with 14 running over a
number of age groups. With the ladies team in 7th position it was a good day for the senior members of the club.

A few of the younger members also took the opportunity to run on the new venue of Lanark. Elsie Hollywood being the best place young athlete in 28th place in the U/17 Girls. Under 17 Boys : 53rd Lewis Hunt, 70th Theo Carter , Under 15 Boys 44th David Woods

On Sunday saw 30 of our young athletes making the short trip to the Springburn Cross Country Races at Kirkintilloch. In the High School Race Johnny Burns continued with his recent excellent form by winning the race. David Woods and Erin Ellor picked up the silver medals in their age groups race. Not to be outdone by her big brother, Katie Woods also picked up the silver medal in her age group race. While we do not currently have the results well done to the following people who competed, some for the first time : Eva Porteous, Murray Carson, Raiden Yong, Robyn Keenan, Oliver Elder, Ruaridh Collins, Matthew Collins, Amelia Roberts, Emma Leiper, Chloe Fox, Katie Burns, Imogen Millar, Matthew Fox, Daniel McFall, Callum Thomson, Jay Simpson, Joseph Reilly, Cormac McGrath, Erin Orr, Jessica Grant, Ellie Thomson, Olivia Millar, Beatrice Wainwright, Michael Conteh, Maynard Conteh and Sam Weir

Jimmy Irvine Bella 10k saw a number of our Senior runners running with James Thompson 13th 35.41, Donagh McBreaty 24th 37.16, Andrew Gibson 28th 37.30, Andrew Jackson 54th 39.22, Gary Turner 56th 39.31, David Murphy 147th 43.00, Craig Shannon 190th 45.00, Gerry Mason 321st 49.26, well done everyone

Last weekend we heard from the USA that club member, Matthew Gilliespie, finished 29th in a time of 2:25.05 in the New York Marathon, Matthew moved to the USA a few years ago. Well done

The AGM of the Scottish Men’s League took place this weekend and it saw more success for the club after their excellent 2nd place in Division 1 in their first season back in the Division. David Martin who contributed many points over the season won the Division One Track Athlete of the year and was joint first in the Field Athlete of the year. Fixtures have already been set for next year and the matches will be

The club has been awarded two places in the London Marathon Ballot -If you want considered for one of these places please contact John Mackay no later than the 30th November – A club ballot will take place at the Club’s AGM if more than two people ask for these places.
