A number of athletes made the trip to the Kingdom of Fife for the National Short Course Championships. Driving through to Kirkcaldy, athletes may have thought the course would dry in firm in the bright sunshine. Little did they know they would be up against a waterlogged course which soon turned into a muddy trail, real Cross Country !

Star of the day was W40 women, Avril Mason, who retain her Scottish Master title leading the women’s team to 6th place overall in a highly competitive race. First home for the club was Kayleigh Jarret in 17th position.

Ladies results : –  Kayleigh Jarret 17th, Avril Mason 22nd -1st W40, Ruth Joss 38th, Charlene Manley 78th, Amy Maclellan 105th, Hannah Lynch U/20 162th, Emma Purdie U/20 190th, 251 finished.

A 9th team place was very disappointing for the men with a few call off leading up to the race it was always hard to make the podium .

First home for the club was Lachlan Oates in 9th place with Central’s Andrew Butchart claiming the title in a stacked field. Nine men made it to the start line and it included U/20,Senior, M40 & M50 athletes
