The ladies in the club have been on the international circuit of marathon races .First up was Mhairi Donaldson who made the trip to Paris to complete her first marathon. It was a great effort beating her target of 4 hours by nearly two minute running 3hrs.58.24. Runnnig Doctor, Clara Horswell, make the journey across the big pond to compete in the iconic Boston Marathon. It was a successful trip just missing her PB on a very hilly course when she finished in a time of 3hrs.06.56.

Tesgai Tewedle returned to London one year  on from his major break through .There was no happy return for Tesgai  dropping out at the 25km mark. Its been a year of disappointment for him since his fantastic run last year. Falling in his room at the European 21km Championships and ending up in hospital with a head injury. A foot problem caused him to drop out in Rio and a sickness bug in the week leading up to the marathon in London this year just completed a horrible year for him.

He started well going through 10km in 29.34 ,15km 45.16 ,20km 1.01.38 and the 21km mark in 65.04.At this stage he looked in trouble and dropped out at 25km finishing his hopes of representing the GB team at the World Championships in August. It will be back to the drawing boards to look for another marathon to try to run the time for the Commonwealth Games. If any other member was completing in London as soon as we get the results we will let you know.

Congratulations to John Ruddy who has official notice of his selection to compete in the Deaflympics in Turkey in July. John will compete for the UK in these Championships but must pay for the privilege ( £1740). If any member knows of any company who would support John please get in touch with any board member.
