Fionnuala Ross made it a perfect 5 when she won the Scottish 10km Championships at the City of Stirling 10km. This was the 5th year in a row that she had won the title and her fastest time over this course. She held off English athletes, Charlotte Taylor-Green (34.12) and Rachel Franklin (34.52), to win in a time 33.34 , just missing her PB of 33.20. Fionnuala was also representing Northern Ireland in a Inter-Area competition and led Northern Ireland to the Inter- Area team title. Later this month she will be off to Berlin to compete in the marathon.

Over the weekend Club members took the opportunity to compete from Huntly in the north to the Great North Run at Gateshead
Kevin Alston took 2nd place in Huntly 20km race on Saturday. Meanwhile at Campbeltown the Turner brothers, Gary (1.28) and Matthew (1.20) combined to win the combined Glen Scotia Mok marathon in a time of 2.48 -ech runner running a 1/2 marathon. Andrew Waite made the trip to the North East of England to finish 290th in the Great North Run in a time of 1.22.18.
On the West Coast of Scotland John Oates took 1st place in the over 55 age group in the Ayr festival 10km (39.11) and in the 1/2 marathon event Chris Pantry finished 17th in a time of 1.27.31
In the Parkruns over the weekend Lewis Raeburn (Tollcross) and Jamie Burns (Drumpellier) both won – Jamie setting a new course record

The Cross Country Season starts in a few weeks and it is important all athletes reply to communications to confirm their intentions to compete – Seniors & U/20 athletes please let John Mackay (Men) or Avril Mason (Women) if you want to compete.
